Meet the Country Club of Landfall's dedicated Management Team. Our team is here to assist our members, making them feel right at home at The Club.
Jessi Reutter - General Manager/CEO
Jessi Reutter has over 25 years of private club experience with Member-owned equity clubs, ClubCorp and Eagle Golf. She came to CCL in 2014 after serving most recently as the General Manager of the Field Club of Omaha. Jessi is a Certified Club Manager and earned her bachelor's degree at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa. She is involved in the Club Management Association of America and currently serves on the Carolinas Chapter Board. While Jessi focuses on many tasks daily, her passion for hospitality and creating a culture for both Members and staff to flourish is a top priority.
Justin Waffle - Assistant General Manager
Justin has returned to Wilmington after moving away in 2015 to pursue a career with ClubCorp and KemperSports in Georgia and Illinois. He most recently served as the General Manager of Lincolnshire Fields Country Club in Champaign, IL. Justin's passion for golf and serving others led him in his career of over 25 years, involved in all aspects of the club experience. He graduated from Penn State University with a degree in professional golf management, is a member of the PGA and is also working towards his
Certified Club Manager Certification with the CMAA. Justin strives to achieve the highest Member satisfaction level while inspiring and mentoring staff to succeed. He and his wife Denise grew up together in western New York. They reconnected after college and married in 2012 in Wilmington. This past summer, they were blessed with their son, Hudson. The Waffles love every moment with him and their dog, Nittany, and also enjoy sports and fitness, DIY house projects, and hanging out with family and friends.
Kristin Wilson - Membership Director
Kristin brings with her over 10 years of experience in the Hospitality industry. Upon moving to Wilmington from Santa Barbara, CA, she joined the CCL team in 2014. Kristin attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS, where she obtained a degree in communications with an emphasis in interpersonal communications. Kristin delights in creating lasting relationships with Members and their families and looks forward to continuing to enhance each Members experience here at the Country Club of Landfall.
Jeff Mack - Greens Superintendent
Jeff brings over 10 years of experience in the golf course business, including having worked at MacGregor Downs CC and the Country Club of Landfall. He graduated from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy with a concentration in Turfgrass Management. During his career, Jeff volunteered during the 2004 US Open at Shinnecock Hills. He has also worked both the Landfall Tradition and Bell South Intercollegiate and has been a part of numerous renovation projects. Jeff uses his experience to keep the Landfall golf courses “head and shoulders” above the competition.
Melissa Kirkby - Human Resources Director
An alumnus of UNCW and native of Jacksonville, NC, Melissa Kirkby joined Landfall Associates in January 1989 as Human Resources Manager. When the Club was purchased, Melissa transferred employment to CCL. Melissa enjoys helping the CCL staff and is heavily involved in the community by serving on PTA Boards, Wilmington Greek Festival, and volunteering at Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard.
Brooke Garner - F&B Services Director
Brooke is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in Restaurant & Hospitality Management and comes to CCL from Des Moines Golf & Country Club, one of the most prestigious clubs in the midwest, where she spent the last four years as the Assistant Clubhouse Manager. She began her club career at Mount Vernon Country Club in Alexandria, VA, starting as a Pool Cafe Manager. Her additional previous experiences include: Catering Manager & Wedding Specialist with Marriott Hotel, and completing the Walt Disney World College Program as a Vacation Planner.
Caroline Gedney - Controller
Caroline comes to CCL with 30 years of accounting experience in both public and private accounting and is a licensed CPA. She has worked in several different industries but finds the Hospitality industry to be her favorite. Her most recent employer was Wykagyl Country Club in New Rochelle, NY where she worked for 10 years. Caroline is originally from Wilmington and very excited to be back in town after having lived in the New York metro area since graduating from Tulane University.
Brian Dennis, CEC - Executive Chef
Executive Chef Brian Dennis, CEC, has been in the culinary field for over 30 years. The last 22 years of his experience have been exclusively in the private club industry. Though he was born in Grand Rapids Michigan, he grew up just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Upon graduation from culinary school in 1999, he moved to Denver, Colorado where he had the opportunity to work in the area’s most exclusive private clubs, such as Cherry Hills Country Club and The Country Club at Castle Pines. While working in Colorado, he began competing in American Culinary Federation sanctioned culinary competitions both as an individual and on teams. He was able to obtain several gold and silver medals while competing. This led him to beginning his certification process to become a Certified Executive Chef through the American Culinary Federation, achieving this distinction in 2015. Chef Brian and his family moved to North Carolina in 2016 to become the Executive Chef at CCL, bringing him a bit closer to his family in Atlanta. Chef Brian enjoys spending his days off on his boat with the family and watching Michigan Football. Go Blue!
Jason Cherry - Director of Golf
As a native of “Little” Washington, North Carolina, Jason has always known of the prestige associated with Landfall and feels honored to now be a part of this great team and family. A graduate of Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC where he earned his BS degree in Business Administration in the Professional Golf Management program and played on the golf team for four years achieving All-American honors and two team NCAA Div III National Championships. His career includes working at several clubs throughout North Carolina as a Head Golf Professional and served his previous ten years prior to joining the CCL team as Director of Golf at Haig Point Club in Hilton Head, SC. Jason achieved his PGA membership in 1995 and has worked his entire career in the Carolinas.
Jon Ingham - Director of Tennis
Throughout his junior career Jon was the #1 junior tennis player in his hometown country of Bermuda. Jon later left Bermuda to attend University of North Carolina Wilmington, where he was a 4 year starter and team captain of the Men’s Tennis Team his senior year. Upon graduation Jon became the Men’s Assistant Coach and later the Women’s Head Coach at the University from 1999-2000. Jon joined the Landfall tennis staff as Head Tennis Professional from 2000-2002 and then returned in 2004 where he has remained to grow the junior program. In his tenure, Jon has coached 15 state champions (high school/USTA) and five juniors who have received a # 1 ranking in the state of North Carolina. In addition, Jon’s ACE Junior Programs have won 10 Junior Team Tennis State Championships, 1 Junior Team Tennis Southern Championship, and finished 3rd at Nationals for Junior Team Tennis. The juniors at CCL have also won over 300 tournaments in the last six years.
Josh Case - Fitness & Aquatics Director
After years as Operations Director of the YMCA throughout the east coast, Josh is back for his second stint with the Country Club of Landfall. As the Director of Fitness and Aquatics, Josh is the face of the Fitness Center and his priority is to provide the membership with the most creative, innovative and in-demand fitness programming and activities. With considerations for all ages and abilities, he works daily to create programs that are both heathy and fun!
Mary Smart - Children's Activities Director
Mary has been creating magical moments for the young Members of CCL since 2019 as the Children’s Activities Coordinator. We’re excited to see her transition in to her new role as Director of Children’s Activities. Mary’s rich background in childcare includes four years of teaching preschool and managing a children’s community center. She greatly enjoys bringing joy to the daily lives of little ones and helping cultivate their curiosity during art and stem classes. We are positive that Mary will foster our thriving Kids Club and CCL’s youth programming and grow it to new heights.
Leo Leonard - Maintenance Director
Leo brings with him over 40 years of maintenance experience. He moved to Wilmington in 2005 from Elizabeth, New Jersey and has enjoyed working at the Club for five years.
